08/12/2002 Entry: "b'licious, boring town, flea problem"

It's nearly been three months since this layout has been up. I'm so glad that I liked this simple and professional design for a majority of the summer. I'm thinking it's time I get my creative juices flowing again and create another design to launch next month. I have a good idea for what I'm going to do so hopefully it'll turn out great. I'm alsoto comments and suggestions, so if you'd like to see a new page/section or something new added to Not Right then reply to this entry. A horizontal scrolling style might be used again, so anyone against that idea may get down on their knees and beg me to change my mind. Otherwise, I'm really excited to be making a new layout because it's going to kick butt erma-style!

Ooh yes. I went for a midnight stroll at Foxwoods last week and watched a band called Bootylicious play in the lounge. They're a good cover band. They got points for playing some of my favorite music.

My town is boring. I've said it. It may have a variety of businesses and such, something like Springfield in the Simpsons, but it doesn't satisfy me anymore. I'm probably turning into a cheap snob but I crave for places like a cute little cafe withmic nights, summer festivals, non-corny beach concerts, and community events that don't cost me much to enjoy myself. To my surprise there is an independent film festival at the Garde, and a couple art shows showcasing local artists and artisans, but it doesn't seem like enough. It's not enough for me to call my friends up to spend the weekend strolling around town and having good times. There are hardly those "photo-op" moments that I can show you of our local culture and daily living. Instead it's another trip to Hollywood Video, the supermarket, and maybe a look at clearance racks at Target and Wal-Mart (clearances are always good, you should see the cheap goodies I got yesterday). I've seen all the historic sights in Mystic and I've gotten used to the traffic that comes and goes with the tourists. I'm usually the type to make the best of a moment and live everyday as if it were my first time in town so it wouldn't feel old and uninteresting. That doesn't work for long. I'm ready to move back to the city.

I'm in a good mood really.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it is my new motto for websites. I don't update my layout too often. I've had two layouts since I left my old site.

You know, I just realized how close we will be living. I'm moving into college on the 21st. You and I should hook it up and meet.

Oh we have all that stuff here. We have a lot of good coffee houses withmics, and there is this beach I just found out about that has concerts every Sunday, and their free. It's fun here. The weather is great...for instance its the summer and I was still able to wear a sweater the other day. The only bad thing about San Diego is the cost of living. You should consider it, its not as busy as LA or San Francisco, it's perfect. I know I constantly talk about leaving San Diego but I like it here, I want to grow old here, I just want to try something new, ya know?
