08/04/2002 Entry: "no rice here"

I'm sure the stock guy at Shop Rite was trying to be nice and helpful, but you missed the unhappy looks on my parent's faces when none of us could locate the Vitarroz 20lb bag of rice that was advertised in their flyer on sale for $3.99.

eet says here, Veetaroz rice. tree ninety nine! we look in the rice aisle, we look here. we can't find it! we like to buy it because eet's on sale!

Bless their little hearts. That was the sole reason for the visit to the grocery store.

That's so cute :) My mom sounds like that sometimes, only she doesn't sound cute.

haha Cydele, I'm so glad my mom has a sense of humor even to herself. I'm not sure if it's an accent thing for this word, but my mom mispronounces "advertisement" by saying "adbertissment" and whenever I correct her we laugh.

hahaha that sounds like my mom!

There's this filipino show that I watch with her called THE BUZZ, and she went up to me and asked me if I wanted to watch The Bus. I was all confused so I just said NO. Then later I saw her watching The Buzz so I asked her why she didn't call me to ask me if I wanted to watch it, and she was all like WELL I DID! So I had to teach her how to say the BuZZZZZ. It was soooo funny because she just ended up saying The BuSSSSSSSSS. She was even laughing at herself.
